Christian Youth Theater presents “Seussical the Musical” Nov. 10 through Nov. 12 at Medical City Lewisville Grand Theater, 100 N. Charles Street.
“Seussical” is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza. Tony winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (“Lucky Stiff,” “My Favorite Year,” “Once on This Island,” “Ragtime”) have lovingly brought to life favorite Dr. Seuss characters. The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, including JoJo McDodd, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many thinks. Not only must Horton protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must also guard an abandoned egg, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him.
Tickets are $14 at the door, and $12 for group tickets (minimum 10 tickets). Tickets can be purchased at CYTDallas.org. Performances are at 7 p.m. with 2 p.m. matinee shows Nov. 11 and 12.
