The annual Castle Hills Fourth of July Freedom Festival celebrates its 20th anniversary with a day of family-friendly activities, music, food trucks and a stunning fireworks display. The free event takes place 5:30 p.m. July 4 at the Castle Hills Village Shops, 2540 King Arthur Blvd. at Lady of the Lake in Castle Hills. Everyone is welcome.
This year’s Freedom Festival will feature Texas’ largest inflatable maze, a giant inflatable obstacle course, 20-foot water slides, train rides, a bubble station, carnival games and prizes, face painters, balloon artists and a caricature artist. Additional activities at Lake Avalon include bounce houses and a DJ. Don’t forget to stop by the photo booth for a free photograph with your friends and family and to sign up for a chance to win a $100 gift card at the registration tents. Concessions will be available for purchase from Village Shops’ restaurants, including TKO Libations’ new American Cream Ale for $5. Eight of the area’s favorite food trucks will be onsite including Chef Cassy’s Creations, The Butcher’s Son and many more.
The fireworks display will begin at dusk. Get there early to get the best seats. Don’t forget to bring blankets, chairs and coolers. The Village Shops is a one-acre-plus site featuring tree-shaded walkways, gardens and numerous water features, including the very popular interactive water fountain, a permanent stage and shaded outdoor seating. This year’s Freedom Festival is presented by the City of Lewisville, in partnership with Castle Hills developer Bright Realty and Platinum Sponsor Vector Security.
Early in the day, residents and friends are invited to join the neighborhood parade. The parade starts at 9 a.m. at Polser Elementary School and ends at the Castle Hills Village Shops. Residents can take part by decorating their golf carts, wagons, bikes and strollers for the parade.
