The Lewisville Public Media Corporation is a Texas Nonprofit corporation dedicated to funding quality local journalism to serve the residents of the Lewisville, Texas area.
LPMC is organized exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes as defined in section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Its activities will include but not be limited to educating the public through the production of high quality journalism online, in print, or in other media.
As of February, 2018, LPMC has applied for, and is awaiting a ruling from the IRS on its nonprofit status.
In the mean time, LPMC is supported by generous donors, including SagePost, Inc., the publisher of The Lewisville Texan Journal, and other readers and benefactors. When the time and circumstances are right and LPMC’s governance and financial situation indicates that LPMC can sustainably operate it, SagePost will transfer ownership of The Lewisville Texan Journal into LPMC.
