A brief police chase down Main Street/FM 1171 ended with the pursued Ford F-150 truck flipping onto its roof.
The pursuit began with a call to Lewisville Police Department around 10:30 a.m. concerning a suspicious vehicle parked in front of a house at the 1800 block of Juniper Lane, Capt. Christopher Butterworth said.
Officers who arrived on the scene ran the plate number of the suspicious vehicle, which had two occupants, to discover it was stolen out of McKinney, Butterworth said. While the officers were checking out the vehicle, the truck fled.
“A second officer saw the truck turn onto Main Street from Garden Ridge heading toward Flower Mound,” Butterworth said. “That officer got in behind that vehicle and initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle fled at that point from that officer as well.”
Shortly after entering the City of Flower Mound, the truck attempted to drive over a median and turn back into westbound traffic. The driver lost control of the truck and it skidded before flipping onto its roof, ejecting the driver onto the road, Butterworth said.
The pursuit lasted about two minutes and ended in front of Parker Square.
Both occupants of the truck were taken to local hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries and charged, Butterworth said. The driver was charged with evading arrest in a vehicle and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
